Dear Editor,
I was surprised to read Mr. Waterbeek's comments regarding the spraying of brine on the roads [Road salt damages vehicles, Feb. 19 Letters, TIMES].
I am pleased to see the roads sprayed in the morning, because it means the municipality has done the best it can to keep us safe. I don't have his years on the roads (I've only lived here 32 years), but I find it odd that he would place the potential of rust on his vehicle as a higher priority than the potential of someone being injured sliding off the road on a frosty day.
