MR. LUBE SENDS KIDS TO CAMP
More than 40 children with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities were treated to an extra special time during Mr. Lube Week, held at the Zajac Ranch for Children from Aug. 6 to 10.
The camp also offered a much-needed respite to over-stretched caregivers, who were able to rest at night knowing their children's needs were being looked after by a team of trained medical staff.
Mr. Lube, including the Maple Ridge location owned by Matt Siepmann, has raised more than $100,000 over the last three years and donated the money to Zajac Ranch.
BUILDERS' GIVE TO FOUNDATION
Haney Builders' Supplies in Maple Ridge raised more than $10,000 at its annual golf tournament held at Pitt Meadows Golf Course for Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.
According to general manager Colin McIntosh it was a "great day" and they raised the most money since he has been there.
PIZZA ON THE MOVE
Pizza Hut has moved to new digs at the corner of Lougheed Highway and 207th Street (next to Waves.)
I popped by to check if they were open yet and asked if this was the start of a new trend - shutting down the larger, out-of-fashion restaurants like the one they had for years just a few blocks away, in favour of this new modern look.
But the people there didn't believe this to be the case. Anyways, the new location looks bright, airy, and stylish, and they are open for business.
