Dear Editor,

There is an epidemic of motor vehicle accidents. This is indisputable. I am not so interested in the why of it; I'd like to know what, if anything, can be done about it. The insurance industry can only be disturbed. However, they just have to hike the fees.

More care and slowing down when the roads are wet are an obvious answer. A near total lack of common sense is also obvious.

Common sense? Wassat?
