The South Bonson Community Centre and Solaris at Meadow Gate, two newer buildings in Pitt Meadows, have been nominated for the 2012 Commercial Building Awards. The awards will be presented tomorrow (Nov. 21).
The South Bonson Community Centre is located at 10932 Barnston View Rd. and is the city’s first LEED-certified green building. The official grand opening was held on Sept. 17, 2011, and the building now hosts many events, including weddings, fitness classes, arts and crafts workshops and much more.
Solaris at Meadows Gate is located at 12069–12099 Harris Rd. next to the Civic Centre and Spirit Square. The development marks the first two mid-rise mixed-use buildings in the community and the third building is the new home of the Pitt Meadows Library. A fourth building in this mixed-use development is to come.
“Pitt Meadows is working hard to build quality projects with diverse amenities for our community’s growing population. We’re honoured that these projects have been nominated and recognized throughout the region,” said Kate Zanon, CEO, Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation.
