Teen arrested after robbery in Maple Ridge

A teen male has been arrested in relation to a recent convenience store robbery.

Around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 11th police were called to the convenience store in the 12000 block of 216 St.

Two males allegedly entered the store with one of them producing a large knife and fled with an undisclosed quantity of cigarettes and candy.

Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to the incident, assisted by the Integrated Police Dog Services , and one of the suspects was found in the area.

“The victim did the right thing in notifying police immediately and the coordinated response resulted in this arrest,” said Ridge Meadows RCMP Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk. “This was a favourable outcome, as no one was injured.”

The Integrated Forensic Identification Section is analyzing evidence from the scene, and investigators are continuing efforts to identify the second suspect, who wore a disguise during the incident.
