Ridge Meadows Mounties aren't saying why, but they're asking for help to identify a man who visited a Pitt Meadows movie theatre a few times this summer.
Today, they release a picture gleaned from surveillance footage showing a man leaving the Hollywood Cinemas in the Meadowvale shopping centre.
He was reportedly there on June 19, and again on July 10, and police want to talk to him "about his conduct in and around the movie theatre," said RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.
The police are hoping someone can offer assistance in identifying the man, who they describe not as a supsect but a "person of interest."
In this case, anyone with information is being asked to call Const. Brent Wilcott at 604-467-7685.
In the meantime, in a more recent case, police are investigating a vandalism complaint.
Some time between 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and 7 a.m. on Sept. 19, vandals entered a property in the 121-- block of 203rd Street, and damaged excavating equipment.
"At this time, police have no leads to go on, and we're asking the public for assistance," Dunlop said.
"The estimated cost to replace and repair this damage is approximately $9,000," she explained. "This doesn't include the time the company can't continue to work on the site."
In the vandalism case, anyone with information is asked to call the Ridge Meadows RCMP detachment at 604-463-6251, or to remain anonymous, they can call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.solvecrime.ca.
