A Maple Ridge man is expected to be in court today (Thursday) facing 50 gun-related charges.
On June 12, the RCMP seized 33 weapons, including a fully automatic Galil assault rifle, an automatic Sten machine gun, an AK-74 assault rifle, a Glock 17 handgun and an M1 Carbine.
Other weapons found include a conducted energy weapon, butterfly knife, a grenade, and 62 banned ammunition magazines.
Officers also seized body armour, marijuana and 60,000 counterfeit DVDs, and 30,000 rounds of ammunition.
The weapons were found in different locations in several communities, according to Coquitlam RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jamie Chung.
Marc Wisdom, 41, is facing charges ranging from possession of prohibited/restricted firearms with ammunition, knowingly possessing a firearm without a licence, careless use of a firearm to storage of firearms contrary to regulation.
Chung said the RCMP plan to hold a press conference about the case in the next week or two.
