Calendar coverage distastful

Dear Editor,

I opened up my newspaper and was disturbed by the pictures shown of the calender to raise money for prostate cancer [Fake 'stache raises coin for prostate cancer, Nov. 6, TIMES]. It is not appropriate to show these kinds of pictures in a family newspaper that is brought into our homes.

I have three sons I am raising to not view women as objects of desire, but as ones to treasure and to treat in a honorable way. It was not necessary to show so many pictures of these women mostly undressed. One of the pictures might have been okay, but the majority were in poor taste.

You may call it sassy, but it is still presented in a sexual manner that is distasteful to me as a woman. Please refrain from using this kind of promotion to help charities.

Thankfully, I was able to tear the page out before the rest of my family was able to flip through the pages.
