Chief Supt. Dave Critchley, the officer in charge of Burnaby RCMP presented Cpl. Fred Elder with his medal for 35 years of exemplary service in the RCMP.

Elder was posted to Ridge Meadows detachment on two occasions, serving the community for 11 to 12 years of his policing career.
