Recently I met a trio of ladies from TD Canada Trust who really impressed me, and gave me an idea for my own future parties.

The women, branch manager Carina Law and financial services rep Janette Hosein from the Westgate Shopping Centre location, and branch manager Sheri Ballantyne from the Valley Fair Mall location, organized a holiday gift exchange with a unique twist.

The premise is to purchase gifts as a secret Santa that you think your co-worker may have played with as a child.

After the gift exchange and reminiscing about the fun toys and games they all played with as children, the gifts are then donated to the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society.

This year TD Canada Trust donated 72 toys to the Christmas hamper after their party.

Hosein is the mastermind behind this great plan. Her bank first tried it out last year and it was such a success that they invited the other branch to participate this year.

$3,000 donated

Kudos to Brugman Commercial Kitchens and Hughes Wealth & Risk Management for raising more than $3,000 in cash, toys, and food for the Christmas hamper at their Christmas party held Dec. 8 at Planet Ice.
