In the meantime, Yennadon-area resident Gerry Badger recently returned from a trip to northern Guatemala, where he officiated the Junior Pan American wrestling championships. After the event, the host committee took him to Tikal, to see the Mayan ruins and an ecological park where he walked through the tree tops via steep trails and suspension bridges. He took along a copy of his hometown paper, The TIMES, on the trip. “Locals asked to have my copy of The TIMES newspaper, to read about us, and to practise their English,” Badger said.
