People are pleased that the Scouts are back in the Christmas tree business.

"We have been getting a lot of 'I remember when...' stories," said Christi Goncalves, whose troop name is Rainbow.

"Everyone that we have talked to has been so happy to get their tree and help the Scouts," she added.

"We get a lot of that too," she said about the drivers honking in passing cars.

"There were a lot of families that came in on Sunday," Goncalves added.

As of Saturday afternoon the Scouts had sold 280 trees, and by the end of Sunday the Scouts had sold 364 of the 500 trees.

"We are open straight through to Dec. 23 or until we sell our last tree," she explained.

"Not only has it been great meeting all the families of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, it has brought the 1st Haney family closer together," Goncalves added.

JRfm was on location Saturday playing Christmas and country music and handing out stickers.

The tree lot is located at Cap's, at 21626 Lougheed Hwy.

Anyone who buys a Christmas tree from the Scouts is eligible to win a BMX Rise Bike donated by Norco.
