Ten drunk drivers were taken off the road in a local CounterAttack by Ridge Meadows RCMP on the weekend. The drivers lost their licence for three months for failing a breathalyzer test and for 24 hours for blowing a warning.
Those 10 drunk drivers could have called Operation Red Nose. ORN took 62 calls - 19 on Friday and 43 on Saturday.
According to Linda Palm the 62 teams drove 1,900 kilometres.
"People can still sponsor road teams for $300. The sponsor company logo will be on the three volunteers' red vests for the entire campaign," said Palm.
Maple Ridge Eye Care is the only one from the community that has stepped up to sponsor a team.
"It's a reasonable number - $300 - that most corporation would be able to find in their budgets," Palm added.
Call 1-877-604-NOSE (6673) for a ride on Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, and 31.
