Christmas meal appeal

The Salvation Army Caring Place will host its annual Christmas meal on Friday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. and they need help.

Each year The Caring Place relies on donations from local grocers and residents to supply a Christmas meal for more than 300 people.

With the dinner less than two weeks away it is coming down to the wire to collect donations, said Amelia Norrie, spokesperson The Salvation Army Caring Place.

"If the Salvation Army doesn't receive enough donations for the Christmas meal, they will have to buy some additional birds to supplement the demand on Dec. 14. Using funds to buy meal items is money that will directly affect the bottom line of The Caring Place's ability to provide other services year-round," Norrie added.

Anyone interested in helping, either by donating turkeys, meal items, or gift cards, contact Tim Sarsfield at 604-463-8296 ext. 123 or tim.sarsfield@caringplace.ca.
