Coquitlam Farmers Market hosts a Strides for Strokes event from noon to 1 p.m.

Registration is at 11 a.m. in front of Dogwood Pavilion, 624 Poirier St. (between Poirier and Winslow Avenue). The walk is sponsored by the Stroke Recovery Association of BC (SRABC), a non-profit organization offering information and programs to stroke survivors.

Home Instead Senior Care offers the Alzheimer's care program its caregivers use to help families struggling with the disease, through a free family training workshop from 6 to 9 p.m. at Blue Mountain Baptist Church, 450 Blue Mountain St., Coquitlam. RSVP to the Home Instead office at 604-552-3324.
