Dear Editor,
On Jan. 25, my wife required the services of Maple Ridge's paramedics and fire department.
Unable to make it to the hospital for the birth of our second child, she delivered the baby at home by herself.
We wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to the members on duty that day, including the paramedics, fire department, and the 911 operator.
They took a frightening situation for our entire family and made it into the joyous event a birth should be. We are honoured they could share this day with us.
The firefighters had to break a window to gain access to our home. We are grateful to the paramedics for returning to our house after delivering Kaila to hospital, to help the fire department clean up the mess both inside and out.
It was an amazing show of kindness. To me, that is an amazing part of the story.
