Just days into the new season, WildPlay in Maple Ridge is doing a booming business, and the warmer than normal climate is definitely being credited for the boost.
Compared to last February, the numbers of visitors are "definitely up," said park manager Wendy Mein.
WildPlay first opened in July 2010 with a self-managed system that lets adventurers climb, swing, and zip through the forest at their own pace through a series of games suspended between six and 60 feet (two to 18 metres) up in the trees.
WildPlay reopened for the season on Feb. 4, and Mein noted more visitors than ever seem to be are coming from farther away, many from Abbotsford, Langley, and Surrey.
People swarm in to enjoy the Monkido Aerial Adventure Course and other suspension-type obstacle such as tightropes, missing plank bridges, swinging logs, ziplines, hanging cargo nets, and ladders.
