Mike Kosty of Advanced Nutrients said if his company finds someone with a good resume, they will create a job for that person.

The company, based in Abbotsford, is actively recruiting employees as business is booming in the hydroponic industry.

Kosty was at the Maple Ridge Library last week for a job fair put on by BC Jobs Plan, a provincial government initiative.

Kosty had collected a pile of about 20 resumes, and was sure there were at least two he was interested in.

Being at a jobs fair allows an employer to see prospective workers and get a sense of what type of person they are, Kosty said.

"It's a great pre-screening opportunity," he said.

Tim Hortons, Canadian Forces, BC Corrections, Investors Group Financial, and Sun Life Financial were some of the other employers who came out to meet prospective employees.

Twenty-four job fairs, put on by the province, are being held across the province until the end of November.
