Andrew Allen, Stef Lang, and an artist known only as Laurell - three musicians with strong roots in the province of British Columbia - will perform a B.C. Beats concert at The ACT this Saturday night.

Allen has toured throughout North America with acts including Bruno Mars, One Republic, and the Barenaked Ladies. Originally from Vernon, Allen was the feature performer for the Sochi 2014 handoff finale for the closing ceremony of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games held in Whistler.

Allen's career in pop music is taking off thanks to his hit Loving You Tonight, which landed him a record deal and a video with 3.6 million online views, and was featured in the 2011 film Abduction.

Laurell, winner of Pop Album of the Year at the 2010 Western Canadian Music Awards, led song-writing workshops all across Canada and the songwriting workshop at CRE8 Youth Week at The ACT in 2012.

Laurell has recently been invited to teach Music BC's Songwriting Mentorship Program, S.O.N.G., at high schools in B.C.

Lang, a singer, songwriter, originally from the Ladysmith, is known for her engaging performances and edgy lyrics. Lang has released two albums, including The Underdog (2010) with her hit single Mr. Immature.
