The most romantic city in the world will be featured in the next film of the Golden Ears Movie Series (GEMS).
Midnight in Paris, a movie by Woody Allen, starring Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Kathy Bates, and Michael Sheen, will be screened at The ACT on Jan. 23.
The movie series is presented in cooperation with the Toronto International Film Festival's Film Circuit program.
Midnight in Paris is the most commercially successful movie Allen has made in years.
Wilson plays Gil, an Allenesque writer whose night-time sojourns in the French capital magically transport him back to the 1920s. Delightedly drifting through the haunts of the Lost Generation, he meets such 20th century icons as Ernest Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Josephine Baker, Salvador Dali, and Luis Bunuel.
Gil falls for Adriana (Marion Cotillard), the beautiful mistress of a certain Pablo Picasso, which causes more than a bit of friction with his fiancee (Rachel McAdams) back in 2010.
Gil's daily walks at midnight in Paris take him closer to the heart of the city but could take him further from the woman he's about to marry.
