Pascal Chassay, who was celebrating his 11th birthday with his younger brother Rohann, 7, was at Camp Day at Tim Hortons on Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge on June 6. Tim Hortons assistant manager Rachael Stankowski cheered the boys on when they spun the wheel for a prize. Camp Day raises money for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation, which provides a once-in-a-lifetime camping adventure for economically struggling kids. Restaurant owners donate 100 per cent of coffee proceeds from Camp Day. In 2011, Camp Day raised nearly $10 million. Since 1975, the foundation has helped more than 165,000 children.
