On Sunday, June 17, the airport will host its YPK Community Airport Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the main parking lot of the airport.

There will be vintage and collectible aircraft and automobiles, and live music.

At 1 p.m. MP Randy Kamp will speak, and after that the Pacific Sky Divers will perform.

There will be airplane and helicopter demonstrations around 3 p.m. as well. Kids can take a free ride in an airplane, sponsored by the Aero Club of B.C. Adults can also go on flights for a subsidized cost.

Returning favourites, such as the children's ride-on airplane train and static aircraft exhibition, will be joined by new displays by popular aircraft manufacturers and introductory flights.

Everyone is welcome to take advantage of the many displays by flight schools and colleges, and professionals on hand to answer questions.

On Saturday, the day before the community open house, there will be a Mission Aviation Fellowship regional gathering at the Aero Club of B.C. at Pitt Meadows Airport from 9 a.m. to noon.

A rust remover seminar for pilots at Pacific Rim Aviation Academy runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there will be a mini trade show from noon to 5 p.m.

A hangar dance and dinner, hosted by the Aero Club of BC, will also take place in the Pacific Rim Aviation Hangar on Saturday.

Tickets are $35 for dinner and dance, and $20 for the dance.

See www.cypk.com for details and tickets or call Karleen at 604-465-8977 ext. 6 or Trevor at 604-465-7443.
