Songs from the heart, emanating from the vocal cords of 16 local singers, are going to be delivered to unsuspecting recipients the Sunday before Valentine's Day and for a couple of hours on Feb. 14 itself.
For $40, the songbirds are willing to go to any location in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and belt out a love song in a three-part harmony to someone who has captured another's heart.
Organizers say that customers can meet with the group ahead of time to deliver a gift of flowers, chocolates, or a card with the song.
This year's song choices are: I Just Called To Say I Love You - Stevie Wonder;
Truly, Madly, Deeply - Savage Garden;
Love me Do - The Beatles; and,
Just the Way You Are - Bruno Mars.
In past, the "sing-a-grams" have been just as satisfying for the vocalists as they have been for the people they've sung to.
"It was a rewarding experience," said Mary-Ellen Smith.
David Currie added, "My wife's grandmother didn't stop talking about it for a year."
The group will be making song deliveries on Sunday Feb 10 from noon to 6 p.m., and Thursday, Feb 14 from 6: 30 to 9: 30 p.m.
Proceeds go to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation. For more information or to book a Valentine's sing-a-gram, contact the Bergthorson Academy of Musical Arts at 604-467-6613, or call Rayne Beveridge 604-716-3057, or email raynebeveridge@hotmail. com.
