Maple Ridge council deferred rezoning of a lot at 24325 126th Ave. in Silver Valley after several trees were cut down on a slope on the property.
The deferral is for a month, and, in the meantime, District of Maple Ridge staff will work with the applicant on a remediation plan to figure out how to restore the vegetation. Chuck Goddard, manager of development and environmental services with the District, told council at Tuesday's council meeting that the tree cutting was a "significant violation."
The application is to split the property into two single-family lots.
