The Training Group at Douglas College held an official grand opening for a centre in Maple Ridge where people can get help finding work.
Since April 2, residents of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows have been able to access all government employment services under one roof.
The expanded, centralized WorkBC Employment Services Centre, at 170-22470 Dewdney Trunk Rd., brings together case management, job search, income assistance, self-employment, essential skills, and other programs formerly spread throughout the community and delivered by numerous B.C. agencies.
Several service-provider agencies partnered with The Training Group to consolidate services into a one-stop service centre including Bowman Employment Services, Buxton Consulting, William Weselowski and Associates, and Immigrant Services Society of BC.
