Local provincial New Democratics will choose their candidate on June 24 for the May 2013 election.
The Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows NDP riding association has two contenders for next year's general provincial election: Elizabeth Rosenau and Korleen Carreras.
The current MLA for Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Michael Sather has announced he will not seek re-election after two terms representing the riding.
Rosenau, a local pharmacist, sought the NDP candidacy in the last federal election but lost to Craig Speirs.
Korleen Carreras, a Pitt Meadows resident who works for the BC Government and Service Employees' Union, was going to run for Pitt Meadows council last fall but withdrew her name before the election.
The meeting is for members of the NDP riding association. Because of scheduling conflict, Adrian Dix is unable to attend.
