It's amazing what a little criticism will do. After complaining about the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Corporation and its highly paid cushy jobs, all of a sudden there is an announcement about bringing 200 new jobs to Pitt Meadows.

One of the new companies is Maurice Sports, which is moving to Pitt Meadows, and its Maple Ridge employees will now be enjoying a shorter commute to work.

Very nice! And how would you term these as "new jobs?" We all know that, of the 200 jobs, very few will go to Pitt Meadows residents.

Queen Walters may put a feather in her bonnet, but how many years will it be before the PMEDC generates enough new business taxes to pay its annual $250,000 cost?

We already know that Mayor Walters is prepared to raise our property taxes whatever amount she needs to support her vision of Pitt Meadows. Here are the highlights of Queen Walters reign so far: spend freely, raise taxes, and ignore citizen protest over the same.
