Pitt hosts first-on-tour job fair
Ten employers took part in a job fair in Pitt Meadows

About 430 people turned out for the first stop of a 23-city job fair with BC Jobs Plan, according to a spokesperson for the tour.
"It was a great turnout. I think everyone was really happy with the employers who came out," said Adam Duron, a spokesperson for BC Jobs Plan.
"Some people even gave testimonials that they were pointed in the right direction for their career path," he added.
"We had everything from middle-aged people looking for retraining, to students looking for their first job," added tour staffer Richard Lynch.
People of all ages and across all job sectors explored the career options of 10 exhibitors.
"Lots of parents came in with their children after school. At the WorkBC site there is a special section for job-seeking youth," said tour staff Theodora Ip.
Many exhibitors at the fair were employment resources like WorkBC and STEP, who help people to find jobs, but aren't necessarily hiring.
