Dear Editor,

My family, my entire neighbourhood, and I want Maple Ridge council to vote "no" on a ridiculous idea of having a gravel pit near schools and a quiet residential area.

I have spoken to at least seven neighbours here on Aurora Street, and they are outraged and think it downright wrong to have a gravel pit this close to a residential area. At least three of them, including us, will be forced to sell for cheap the place we call home, rip the kids from their beloved Yennadon school and their friends, and move out of Maple Ridge, a place we truly love. We've been here since 2005, and dream of staying here the rest of our lives.

We need all the support we can get; this proposal will not only affect our comfort, safety, health, and property value, it will have a significantly negative impact on the wildlife and the ecosystem in this area and beyond.
