A judge will give his decision next Wednesday on a kidnapping case that took place at Westgate Mall in mid January.
Ian James William Campbell pleaded guilty to four charges in August. Then on Monday, both defence and Crown made submissions to Judge Garth Smith in Port Coquitlam provincial court.
On Jan. 19, Campbell approached a young woman on a break outside a Maple Ridge pub, asking for help with his car.
As the 17-year-old drove him to his car, he pulled a fake gun and forced her to drive away from the area before beating her.
After the attack, several women contacted police and said they had also been approached at the mall by a man asking them for help.
He pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, using a fake gun, and theft.
