Dear Editor,
I was delighted to read the statement written by a group of citizens about the value of the Albion Flats [Better uses for Albion Flats, Aug. 21 Letters, TIMES].
There is a saying: "Without vision, the people perish."
I would hope that there are many more citizens who can envision creative uses for the Albion Flats, beyond the suggestion of the large billboard plunked down in the midst of trees and bushes.
Imagine the desolation of New York City minus Central Park, for example.
Masses of concrete buildings or big box stores do not nurture our souls, but a walk in nature or even driving by a large open field can restore a sense of aliveness.
It is good to stop and think before a valuable treasure is lost forever.
