Dear Editor,
I live on Ford Road, just off Harris Road. Lately, I have noticed a lot of garbage just being thrown around.
And now to add to the mess from the 7-Eleven store, McDonald's, and general trash is a new coffee shop. It's not been open for more than 72 hours, and I wake up to a coffee cup on the top of my hedge!
I'm not sure what is the matter with people, but it's getting a little out of hand. Why do we not care about how our neighbourhood is presented? Why does the City not put up garbage cans? Why are people so happy to throw their garbage around for someone else to pick up? It's disgusting, not just because it's on my hedge, but it's our neighbourhood, and we should want to keep it clean, not like some Downtown Eastside alleyway - which sometimes I think might be cleaner than some of our roads and neighbourhoods in Pitt Meadows.
Am I the only one who cares around here, about the fact that garbage should be placed in a bin and not on the street, hedge rows, and flower beds?
I am collecting pictures now every time I see this mess, to send in to the City.
Anthony, Pitt Meadows
