The Ridge Meadows Rage 95 girls softball team took a copy of their hometown newspaper, The TIMES, with them to compete in Kelowna’s Sizzle Softball Tournament recently. The girls had a successful weekend, placing fourth out of 15 teams.
Jeanne and Stan Durnion of Maple Ridge recently returned from a 14-day Royal Caribbean cruise where they visited five of the major Hawaiian islands. Their excursion included a stop at Mauna Loa – famous for macadamia nuts – in Hilo, where they had a picture taken with their hometown newspaper, The TIMES.
Maple Ridge’s Julia Coustol and George Steil were in Bali, Indonesia recently. Coustol, who is a support teacher at Kanaka Creek Elementary, won this dream vacation from Maple Ridge Chrsyler. Coustol and Steil, who is a concrete superintendent for the Port Mann bridge project, are raising their autistic grandson, and described this holiday as a welcome break. Coustol held an edition of The TIMES featuring her and her daughter when she won the dream trip.
The Ridge Meadows Expos were in Kelowna recently for a Midget AA baseball tournament. The team went 5 and 0 to win the tournament. They had a celebratory picture taken with a copy of their community newspaper, The TIMES.
