he home of the famous Smiley Face cookie is moving.

T According to the owners Grant and Erin Belfour, the Haney Bakery will soon be opened in another location. They are currently on the hunt.

Last Friday night they received a letter from Narland, Haney Place Mall's management company, telling them they have six weeks to get out, explained Grant.

"We have possibly found a place to relocate the bakery. It's a stone's throw away in Selkirk Court and we will still be here for kids who want Smiley Face cookies," said Erin.

Grant would like an explanation. "It's a big headache, but it has some upsides, too, like cheaper rent and not having to be open 362 days a year," he said.

The bakery has been a part of Maple Ridge and Haney Place Mall for nearly 26 years.

The bakery has carried on a long family tradition in the baking industry since 1987. People who ate their cookies when they were kids now bring in their own kids.

But, the Belfours are taking this all with a pinch of salt, a cup of sugar, and smiles on their faces.

Watch out for a new and improved Haney Bakery opening soon.
