Dear Editor,
My father recently passed away, and in his memory, his coworkers donated money to put up an engraved bench in Maple Ridge Park. It is in a lovely spot, near the path that goes along the water.
I went there to put down a flower and think about my dad for a bit. Someone had left a bag of dog crap on the bench.
Naturally, I was angry, but I did the right thing and found a garbage can to put it in. The person who left it there was either lazy, stupid, or perhaps both, as it took me no time at all to locate the appropriate receptacle.
I hope next time the person who did it will think twice about leaving a plastic bag of poo on a park bench. By doing that, he or she literally crapped on my dad's memory.
