Appreciation and a heartfelt apology came in the form of colourful thank you letters for a pair of Maple Ridge Mounties involved in a recent search for two missing children.
Ridge Meadows RCMP Sgt. Parm Prihar and Const. Lewis Walker were called out to east Maple Ridge on Friday, Aug. 17, to find two young children who had gone missing from their rural home.
“Thankfully, they showed up shortly after Const. Walker received the report, and both were fine,” said Prihar.
Before the responding officers were able to mobilize a full-scale search, the two young girls showed up again.
It turned out they had gone exploring along a trail near their home, and had not returned or responded to calls from a concerned parent.
Both girls expressed their personal gratitude to the officers at the time, and followed it up with thank-you letters.
“We are sory [sic],” wrote eight-year-old Alyx. “Thanks for the effort trying to find us… You have a hard job. I’m lucky you are in our community.”
Her friend Alicia, also eight, wrote her thanks, and said “I will not go enywhere with out telling my mother agian. I am really Sory I Skared my mom [sic].”
