Golden Ears Cheesecrafters is hosting this year’s Farm Folk, City Folk annual fundraiser Feast of Fields.
On Sept. 9, 1,200 people, the bulk of them from Vancouver, will be attending this event, said Golden Ears Cheesecrafters spokesperson Kerry Davison.
Next Tuesday, June 12, Dana Reinhardt the coordinator for this event will make a presentation the to District of Maple Ridge council about Feast of Fields.
Reinhardt began her career in the hospitality industry at the age of 11, spinning cotton candy and selling corn dogs at the PNE.
She started managing restaurants in Vancouver in her early 20s before moving into the kitchen and culinary side with her Cellar Door Restaurant at Sumac Ridge Winery.
Leaving the Okanagan, Reinhardt headed to London, England to do a stint at the River Café. She moved back to Vancouver and worked at Raincity Grill and Lumiere before opening CRU in 2004.
CRU went on to win many accolades. Reinhardt now owns SOL Kitchen, a food and hospitality consulting company.
The Davison family, consisting of dad Kerry, mom Lynn, and daughters Jenna and Emma, are a third and fourth generation Maple Ridge farming family, and they want to encourage people to buy local and know where their food is coming from.
