TEENAGER HITS CURB WHILE IMPAIRED
A 19-year-old Maple Ridge woman is facing impaired driving charges after hitting a concrete curb with her 2000 Volkswagon bug in the early morning hours of Thursday September 2.
At approximately 2:25 a.m. the woman hit the curb at the Meadowvale mall in Pitt Meadows. The force of the collision engaged the airbags inside the vehicle. The female driver was kept on scene by citizens and members of the joint lower mainland Integrated Gang Task Force, for Ridge Meadows RCMP to respond.
The young woman showed signs of being impaired by alcohol, so she was taken to Coquitlam RCMP Detachment, where samples of her breath were analyzed at more than twice the legal limit.
The suspect was later released from custody, but will have to attend Port Coquitlam Provincial Court to answer to the charges.
