Collectors show off their treasures

Haney resident Pete Sherrington was one of about 30 car owners who participated in Vintage Car Club of Canada’s Golden Ears chapter’s car show at Haney Place Mall on Sunday. He brought out his 1923 Ford Roadster, which he restored back in the early 1990s. The 81-year-old collector also has a 1932 Chev and a 1956 Monarch – the latter which he drove across the Golden Ears Bridge on Saturday to the Langley Good Times Cruise-In charity car show. “It just depends on where I’m going as to which car I take,” Sherrington said. He’s been a member of the vintage car club for 23 years. The group meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the St. Andrew’s Heritage Church. Information is available by calling 604-463-4290. Spectators (inset) were invited to vote for their favourite old car.
